Madagascar dragon tree

A branching, cane-forming houseplant with narrow, arching strap-like leaves. This appears to be a green-leaved Dracaena marginata, though the photo does not clearly show cultivar markings.
Plant care
- Light
- Bright, indirect light; it tolerates lower light but grows more slowly. Avoid harsh midday sun.
- Watering
- Usually every 2–3 weeks indoors, less often in low light or winter; adjust to the pot and conditions. Push a finger or wooden skewer 5–7 cm into the substrate. Water only when that depth is mostly dry, then drain thoroughly and empty any outer pot.
- Soil
- Very well-draining potting mix with drainage holes. Bark-based material is suitable only if it retains some moisture and is not excessively dry.
- Humidity
- Average household humidity is usually adequate; avoid persistently wet foliage and stagnant air.
- Temperature
- Prefer 18–29°C; protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 12°C.
- Toxicity
- Potentially toxic if chewed by cats or dogs; may cause oral irritation, drooling, or stomach upset.
