Ribwort plantain

A wild, herbaceous perennial forming a basal rosette of narrow, strongly ribbed leaves. The leafless stalks carry small, cylindrical flower heads. The image is consistent with ribwort plantain, though close Plantago relatives can look similar.

- Usually none once established; water during prolonged dry spells, roughly weekly when rainfall is absent. Check the soil 3–5 cm below the surface; water only if it feels dry, then soak deeply.

- Adaptable; prefers reasonably drained soil and tolerates compacted or poor ground.
- Humidity
- Not demanding; normal outdoor humidity is suitable.

- Cold-hardy perennial; tolerates frost and seasonal temperature changes.
